Images from Ancient Morocco

Here's a number of images I found in the Medina of Tetouan. There were created as photos for postcards, I don't know the names of these paintings but they show an ancient Morocco that is both familiar to the modern one (particularly in design motifs) and quite different at the same time.  

It appears to me that intermarriage with Europeans and Arabs has been very common as Moroccans today are far lighter in skin than in these images which are more African.  Genetic diversity is always genetic vitality.  Morocco is a melange of cultures that has created something quite unique as it own culture which befits its geographical location as gateway to Africa and Europe and the Americas and guardian to the Grand Med. Sea.  What is old, is also what is new, perhaps its always been that way...
